Hi everyone! This is Julia of
The Broke and the Bookish, formerly blogging on my own at
The Competitive Bibliomaniac.
I read mostly historical romance, but can often be found reviewing paranormal romance, young adult books (mostly distopian/fantasy), fantasy/sci-fi, classics,
and the occasional non-fiction book about languages.
Feel free to follow and reblog!
I wish I could rate this higher. I really do. But I just can't get through it. I feel weird giving a book two stars that I didn't finish. It was just to random for me. The characters not making sense. I couldn't connect. I had such high hopes for it to. I think that maybe I may try DiPasqua's books after a few more have been written. I see the potential, but I just couldn't get the gumption to finish this.
Here. This status update by me sums it up well:
"Damn it. I can only take so much of this. Where did the plot go? The beginning was so refreshing but it's turned into a mess. The sex scenes are numerous which causes the plot to drag a lot, even with skimming. And it does make me roll my eyes that Simon is pretty much walking around with a constant erection. His penis is like its own character. For real. I want to finish but its going to be rough..."
