About Julia

Hi everyone! This is Julia of The Broke and the Bookish, formerly blogging on my own at The Competitive Bibliomaniac.

I read mostly historical romance, but can often be found reviewing paranormal romance, young adult books (mostly distopian/fantasy), fantasy/sci-fi, classics, and the occasional non-fiction book about languages.

Favorite Title of a Book

Ah, another hard one. I don't really have a favorite title... I can tell you what I am drawn to though?

    • I like it when titles that are in a series have a theme, unless it's too corny
    • I don't like corny romance novel titles (like ones for historicals that are plays on modern songs. I think I was predisposed to dislike "I Kissed an Earl"
    • One word titles work well with me for some reason... less to remember?
    • I like titles that have something to do with the content, like Fatherland, and not something that has to be shoehorned into a line of dialog somewhere in the book.

That's all I have really... nothing interesting here. Sorry for the delay on finishing these. Ender's Game got in the way and so did find out about the blog called Full House Reviewed. The guy is watching every episode of Full House ever and critiquing it. It doesn't hold up to my childhood memory but reading the summaries are hilarious.

So I'll be involved again over here soon :) Don't miss me too much. Here, have some Stamos (who just gets sexier with age).
